MMG boss Rick Ross has relaunched his own strain called “Collins Ave” and will release it on June 1, according to TMZ

Following a happy return home,  after his pet buffaloes escaped off his Fayetteville, Ga. estate, Ross started a partnership with cannabis company High Tolerance to relaunch his cannabis line.

The cannabis strain, “Collins Ave,” is also named after a popular shopping and hotel strip along South Beach in Miami.

High Tolerance added Ross to its list of rappers who are ambassadors for the brand, including — Jadakiss, Ghostface Killah, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, Dave East, Beanie Sigel, Lil Meech, Millyz, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Ross initially collaborated with Cookies in 2020 and released “Collins Ave” in collaboration with Berner, rapper turned cannabis-mogul who also owns Cookies.

The Real Freeway Ricky Ross

Ross’ moves in the cannabis space prove he could be living up to his rap name, which is often associated with in Jeezy’s words —   “The Real Freeway Ricky Ross.”

Freeway Ricky Ross was a notorious drug trafficker in Los Angeles in the 1980s. He even sued the rapper in 2010  for using his name but lost his case to the rapper, whose real name is William Roberts.

According to a PotGuide report, Freeway Rick Ross is also now in the legal cannabis industry and has a partnership with The Cure Company.

In the cannabis space, there are many rappers with their brands and products, including Chicago rapper Vic Mensa.  Mensa started his 93 Boyz brand in August 2020.

Partnerships in the cannabis industry among rappers are frequent such as rappers T.I., Moneybagg Yo, Soulja Boy, and Lil Durk partnering with tobacco brand Cignature to each have their own flavored hemp wraps, earlier in March. The hemp wraps can be for cannabis use for customers.
