The “Bawse” said MMG protégé Wale would be executive producing the upcoming studio release.

“We really ain’t get into ‘Self Made 4’ yet. Wale’s executive producing ‘Self Made 4,’ so you know he’s going to point the gun and I’m going to squeeze the trigger.” (Revolt TV)

Wale recently talked about his new The Album About Nothing and wanting to be respected.

“Everyone says, “Be patient. It’ll happen.” But all signs are showing, “No, it won’t happen.” I’m okay with people not liking my music but provide an intelligent reason for why you like or don’t like something or you’re a hater or a d*ck-rider. This is my fourth album. I want some respect. I want to go to a party and not have Katy Perry tell her security to move me out of the f*ckin’ way. We do the same thing. I know there’s no union in the music industry, but have some respect. I want people to be like, “Your album’s just as good as Kendrick [Lamar]’s or Esperanza Spalding or Beck.” I work just as hard as them.” (Billboard)

  1. wales my dude but his new material aint like b4,,,da money got him making too many chick joints,,we will see wat he does wit the mmg joint

  2. Artistry is sometimes hard to define at first glance, that said I hope this album is better than his previous one.

  3. That might be dope. These mmg compilations usually have 3 or 4 nice tracks mixed in with a bunch of mixtape material and no real direction. I think they have enough talent and diversity in that roster to put together something nice if they right person is guiding the project.
