[With his “In My Father’s House” documentary in theaters, Chicago rap veteran Rhymefest talks to SOHH about his new Kenneth Cole clothing line partnership.]
I have a new relationship with Kenneth Cole. I’m doing these Kenneth Cole ads where he has me modeling.
It’s a thing called “The Courageous Class” and people can go to KennethCole.com and if you’re in New York, you might see me on some of the billboards and bus stops and wherever else he has me, like taxi cabs.
This is a collaboration I put together with Kenneth Cole where we’re saying, “Look, the real models are the role models.”

We’re taking people who are doing good in the community and highlighting them. We’re saying you don’t only have to do good, you can look good while you’re doing it.
Working with Kenneth Cole, putting this “In My Father’s House” film out, it’s really putting me in a whole different mind state where music ain’t enough.
You can do music and music is great, it can be your calling card, because it should be but music itself, in 2015, we’re living in the future. It’s not enough.
What else can you do?
