Suspended NFL player Ray Rice is reportedly on the path to correct his ways following a now-infamous attack on his wife Janay Palmer-Rice last winter.

According to reports, Rice has bid farewell to intense alcohol consumption.

Rice told the Baltimore Ravens he and Janay Palmer had been drinking HEAVILY before the altercation. Rice is telling friends he becomes a different person when he boozes it up … so he’s changed his life.

But he hasn’t changed that much, because we’re told he still drinks wine … just not hard liquor.

Our sources say Ray and his wife have gotten deep into religion since the February incident — they were both baptized in March when they decided to become Born again Christians. (TMZ)

Mrs. Rice broke her silence on the drama with this statement…

The suspended NFL player’s wife jumped onto her Instagram page this week to address the drama.

“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love!,” Mrs. Rice wrote September 9. (Janay Palmer-Rice’s Instagram)

The NFL may have reportedly turned a blind eye to seeing the footage earlier this year.

Commissioner Rodger Goodell made his disciplinary decision in the dark, which raises the question … Is that the way he wanted it? Sources connected with the Revel Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City tell TMZ Sports … NO ONE from the NFL ever asked for the video inside the elevator … video that was compelling enough to get Rice instantly fired.  (TMZ)

Details of the Baltimore Ravens’ decision to release Rice surfaced Monday (September 8) afternoon.

Ray Rice won’t get another chance with the Baltimore Ravens after all. He might not get a chance anywhere else in the NFL either. The Ravens announced they’ve terminated Rice’s contract Monday afternoon, hours after TMZ.com posted video of the embattled running back punching his then-fiancée during an altercation at an Atlantic City hotel in February. 1. What is needed is a real in depth discussion abut domestic violence We as men need not rush to defend violence or abuse or feel the need tosuggest what females may have done to warrant such treatment Rather we should check ourselves and see what we need to do to rid ourselves of the misgyony, sexual objectificatin, and denigration of our women I am guilty and struggle with this as well

    • theres a double standard there were two football players in the last five years that were victims of domestic abuse and oprah didn’t say shit….one player got stab and I think the other died google I know your gonna want facts…..plus where was the world when jay got brutally beat in the elevator yeah he dipped but it was still abuse….I have two daughters and don’t want them to be victims….but at the same I raise them to not believe that a man is better im trying to install / create a way for them to thrive in this mans world so with that said its unwise to preach that all are equal than scream im a weakling …please protect me….remember this is a new day there are gay busch women who will try to fight men …what is said man suppose to do just get beat….me and my wife have been married for five years and together for 15 since high school she fucked me up to the point the principle told me fight back….then I hit her in few fights we grew and got better now we don’t fight at all…My Point is its not anyones place to say whats wrong and right in this new time….should they have hit each other no should a powerful man hit a women no but that said women has to be more cautious when choosing a mate and when choosing who to jump up at….I don’t have the answers but double standards do nothing to help
