Suspended NFL player Ray Rice is reportedly ready to fight his way back into the league by arguing his now-infamous leaked elevator footage was altered.

According to reports, Rice’s defense is gossip-driven site TMZ edited the footage from his February attack on then-fiancée Janay Palmer.

He’s right. We did edit the video … and we made that point crystal clear in our original post — the same post where we also INCLUDED the raw unedited version showing Rice KOing Janay Palmer. As we initially reported, the original raw video was jerky — in that it would move forward  and then in reverse every couple of frames … so we removed the reverse frames.  Again, TMZ Sports included the raw video in our original post. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the Ray Rice drama in this video…

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell stepped up to address the controversy surrounding him following an instant suspension of Rice last week.

Embattled NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell apologized Friday for what he said was his mishandling of the Ray Rice domestic violence scandal but vowed “now I will get it right and will do whatever is necessary to accomplish that.” Speaking at a Manhattan new conference amid calls for his resignation, Goodell announced a sweeping policy to counter domestic abuse and sexual assault, mandating all players and staff on the league’s 32 teams undergo education and training about how to prevent abuse. Goodell revealed the training sessions would start in the coming weeks.

The training and education sessions will begin within the next month, the commissioner said. The plan is a response to a number of high-profile cases involving players, including the Rice case with its release of a video showing the former Baltimore Ravens’ star knocking out his then-fiancee with a punch. The suspended NFL player’s wife jumped onto her Instagram page earlier this month to address the drama.

“I woke up this morning feeling like I had a horrible nightmare, feeling like I’m mourning the death of my closest friend. But to have to accept the fact that it’s reality is a nightmare in itself. No one knows the pain that the media & unwanted options from the public has caused my family. To make us relive a moment in our lives that we regret everyday is a horrible thing. To take something away from the man I love that he has worked his a** off for all his life just to gain ratings is a horrific. THIS IS OUR LIFE! What don’t you all get. If your intentions were to hurt us, embarrass us, make us feel alone, take all happiness away, you’ve succeeded on so many levels. Just know we will continue to grow & show the world what real love is! Ravensnation we love!,” Mrs. Rice wrote September 9. (Janay Palmer-Rice’s Instagram)
