R&B singer Ray J is finally gearing up to respond to rap star Kanye West‘s “Famous” record. Nearly a year after the infectious banger premiered, the singer is firing back.
According to Ray J, he will shoot back at Yeezy with his own Chris Brown-assisted song, also called, “Famous.”
The first single and video from Raydemption will be “Famous,” which features Chris Brown (whose look-alike was also in Kanye’s “Famous”) and will address West’s video of the same name. Although Ray J avoided mentioning The Life of Pablo rapper and Kardashian, he said, “You can’t fault me and Chris for responding to all the things that have been done about us [in the media] over the last few months.” (Billboard)
On Yeezy’s “Famous” track, he directly goes at Ray J’s head.
In the original song, ‘Ye raps about Ray J’s relationship with Kim Kardashian: “I bet me and Ray J would be friends if we ain’t love the same b*tch / Yeah, he might’ve hit it first / Only problem is I’m rich.” (Rap-Up)
Last summer, Ray’s manager Wack 100 gave his opinion on the “Famous” visual in light of his client’s image being featured in it.
“Did they show him with a d*ck in his wife’s mouth? Tell them Wack 100 said that. If they didn’t show Ray J with his d*ck in Kim Kardashian’s mouth, then tell Kanye to go back and reshoot that sh*t,” Wack said in an interview. “Tell that n*gga he’s a long way from Chicago, he’d better watch his motherf*cking mouth.” (TMZ)
