Former “The Cosby Show” actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner has come forward to defend co-star Raven-Symoné after getting demolished for criticizing some of hip-hop’s biggest entertainers. The 47-year-old has provided his own take on the now-infamous situation.

Warner took to Instagram to not only ride behind Raven’s strong stance but also explain why people should consider the full context of her remarks.

Last weekend, music stars T.I. and Trey Songz both responded to Raven’s controversial commentary.

Earlier the same weekend, Symone appeared to show off her disgust with some high-profile shots of black music moguls like T.I., JAY-Z and Diddy.

Raven has since stepped forward to address the situation and defend the original post despite deleting it from her page.

  1. Unfortunately she is telling the truth! I will never glorify the destruction of our women, drug dealing and pimping. It is nothing but poison for our children. This picture is garbage. A celebration of victimization of our own people to get to the top. Think about all the money the white man have made off of these clowns. Think my people, think!

  2. I agree with the post. I work with urban youth everyday and I see how they admire, glorify, and imitate rap artists and hip hop culture. They can memorize and quote vulgar lyrics about sex, drugs, and violence but could care less about academics or learning anything educational wise. It hurts to see our children not caring about their future, their education but instead glorifying street life and using the “n” word like it’s a rite of passage. It hurts so bad because I think of all the black excellent men and women who came before us that sacrificed their lives and struggled tremendously so we can have opportunities and equal rights and this generation is so caught up in the street life. Oh yes, I do have a few students who do not fit in this group but it is a minority not a majority.

  3. Weren’t pimping, murdering, women sleeping around for money here on this beautiful earth before rap/hip-hop music? Didn’t the Government purposely put drugs in the black community to bring us down? We don’t hear the rappers who speaks positive about the black community and raps about the bigger picture like Lacrae, Immortal Technique, of course 2Pac and host of others. Focusing on the things that been around longer than rap and not the REAL IMPORTANT stuff in life is like looking at life with your eyes closed. Besides where did the rappers learn about those topics? From the same generation that’s putting them down mostly.
