Television star Raven Symone is learning the hard way sometimes things are best left unsaid or – in this case – unshared. The actress is reportedly catching some heat over sharing a dicey social media post about hip-hop royalty.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, Symone seemed to throw some serious shade at hip-hop moguls like JAY-Z and Diddy.

Raven has since stepped forward to address the situation and defend the original post despite deleting it from her page.

Coincidentally, Diddy hopped on Instagram this weekend with a pic of himself alongside JAY and said they needed to help uplift the culture for everyone.

A few days ago, Diddy and rapper Jim Jones shared epic shots alongside JAY.

  1. She’s not lying though.. Them niggas spit poison! It’s sonically beautiful but it’s poison..

    • It can also be seen as poetry and story telling, but their are some people who take it too far. The migos are the ones who come to mind.

    • And alot of these dope promoting rapper’s are endorsed by the NBA in their commentary and advertising.

    • like I told you sell drugs, No. Hov did that so hopefully you wont have to go thru that. 2000-2001 jay z

I think its ridiculously unfair to call it all poison. Rock and roll
, pop music , even blues and jazz all have records that talk about drugs, sex death. Hip hop always has to take the responsibility of being “poison” but every genre is misogynistic, talks about money drugs or death.

Hip hop has always been a reflection of whats going on in our neighborhoods and in the street and it doesn’t always encourage violence more like a reflection of whats really going on.

when I listen to records like “public service announcement” or some of the records on these albums I enjoy them because I can visualize them and really feel the words.

also a lot of these guys are in their early 20’s when they start making music. what values you trying to learn from a 20 year old? with time it changes. 4:44 hov aint reasonable doubt hov. its just different.

  2. Ayyy I agree it sounds good but it’s definitely poison and not a certain age in your career you need to make albums about things you’re no longer doing selling drugs murder partying that’s why 444 was so successful

  3. The truth has never been so truthfully spoken. It’s a shame that in the black culture you can degrade your race and become very wealthy from your own race.

  4. Poison that shit a death sentence…..The most powerful and important thing on this planet is our melanated queens and we have failed them over and over again these niggaz be calling out our sistahs like they have a real hate for em whatever happened to keep ya head up or Brenda I mean all we have to do is protect our queens out there by all “COST” but instead we’ll jump down their throats for anything we killing em raping em all kinds of bs but you’ll run to ya homeboys defense any chance u get I mean you niggaz some str8 fags and I truly hope that all u mofos who disrespecting our queens die on sight no matter what they do they deserve a pass on everything cause they been through enough….its time to kill for our women be real to our women in pacs voice

    • All of them are treason against their own people. Look at how the hip hop community didn’t respect Afeni Shakur. All of n***** are misleading their own people for the price of Fame and money but they talk good b*******

  5. That chicken leg girl is a female Bill Cosby she just mad cause she ain’t one of the successful blackmen in the pic she posted. No body wants her slippin jockeys in their girls drinks. Tryin to man handling them”

  6. I agree with her. Glorifying criminal activities drugs and alcohol and degrading women are just a few examples of what our youth thinks is “cool” and it gives fuel to the stereotypes. Those types of messages have a harmful effect on future generations. It influences and endorses the mentality of being ratchet/gangster etc is something to be proud of when it’s actually suppressing the youngsters and feeding into the prejudices. Instead of trying to get there money up how about Really Making a difference in communities youth programs (things like that) and not just for notoriety or just occasionally..

  7. ALL I SEE IN THE PIC IS A COUPLE OF GUYS WITH BLOOD ON THERE HANDS A FEW THAT TALK SHIT BUT DO NOTHING REAL AND THE REST COONERS OUT TO GET A FAST BUCK THERE AINT A MAN AMONG THEM BIG FAIZON WAS RIGHT ABOUT ALL YOUR BITCH ASSES A BUNCH OF NEEDY MUTHA FUCKAS WITH LOW SELF ESTEAM.
