Music duo Rae Sremmurd’s Slim Jimmy has stepped forward to speak out on his jaw-dropping Governor’s Ball on-stage accident last week.
Following the leaked footage and social media updates, Jimmy relived the horrific experience this week.
“I feel like a million dollars, man, well, like half a million – it’s really marked down from a few billion, man,” Slim said in an interview. “I drink too much milk, I can’t break no bones. Yeah, I knew it was severe but I had to get on stage. I thought I was going to die. Eh yo, when I first fell, I thought I was gonna die so I got back on the stage ’cause if I was gonna die, I was gonna be around my n*gga.” (TMZ Live)
The jaw-dropping footage bubbled online Saturday (June 6) evening.
According to reports, the nasty incident took place Friday (June 5) afternoon.
Ten minutes into a set that began at 1:30 p.m., Rae Sremmurd performed their song “Unlock The Swag” when Slim Jimmy tumbled off a speaker in front of the crowd. The rapper was carried back onstage with the help of two security guards and placed behind the DJ booth. His Rae Sremmurd partner, Swae Lee, cut off “Unlock The Swag” after a few bars to examine the situation. He then told the crowd, “This sh*t is pretty crazy. … This n—a’s leg is like, split open, I’m serious.” (Billboard)
The duo’s Instagram page has kept fans updated on his condition.
