The episode opens with The Nasty Bitches going over their critics' reviews from their disastrous San Diego showing. Valeria fell on Naomi, Jill forgot her lyrics and Brianna had to take a break to sing her son to sleep.
As we know, Brianna’s husband Jeff lost his memory but has now regained it. Jill takes an interview to talk about her coming out as a lesbian and Naomi’s daughter Jo-Jo visits LA for an audition to get into Hillman Music school.
Queen’s manager, Eric, wants the band to get back into the booth to record new music. Naomi and Brianna disagree on how to go about it so they rap battle it out to see if Naomi will continue writing for them or if everyone will write for themselves. Naomi and Brianna go head to head over beats by Mobb Deep (Quiet Storm), Cam’Ron (Oh Boy!), and Black Rob (Whoa). Brianna wins and Naomi walks out.
Brianna struggles to write her verse while she is nursing her husband back to health. As she takes a break, she heads to see the divorce lawyer to get some answers. Brianna and Jeff get a call about their daughter using the words “nasty bitches” in school and Jeff defends both his wife and daughter and goes off on the school officials. Brianna tells Jeff about the lawyer and that she doesn’t know if she can forgive him for his past infidelity.
Jill struggles to write her verse as she thinks about the interview and the reporter who hit on her. Jill accepts the reporter’s invitation for a date and finds herself cheating on her new girlfriend, Tina.
Naomi welcomes Jo-Jo to LA and takes her to Hillman Music School for her audition. Jo-Jo is nervous so Naomi leaves but not before helping Jo Jo get over her fears. Jo-Jo surprises everyone when she performs a Nasty Girls song in tribute to her mother and gets accepted into the school. Before she leaves, her last request is to know who her father is.
Valerie finds herself with writer’s block but her lover/manager, Eric, helps her get her groove back with a date. Inspired by the time together with Eric, she is now able to lay down her lyrics for the Nasty Bitches song, but also ends up fighting with Eric over their past relationship and her choice of career over children.
Wrapping up the episode, the Nasty Bitches reunite and lay down their track together. The band decides on their new name, Queens, ditching the old moniker and past drama for a career comeback.
Brianna chooses to stay with Jeff, but in the midst of telling him, he dies in bed. Jill hides her cheating on Tina with the reporter. And Eric thinks Jo-Jo is his daughter after hearing Naomi’s verse and tells Valerie.
