Despite the widespread reports, Latifah said she had nothing to do with the new LP statement.

“PS: the rumor mill says I predicted an @Outkast album…except I didn’t. Sorry to get twitter a flutter. XO,” Latifah tweeted January 16. (Queen Latifah’s Twitter)

Earlier in the week, buzz about OutKast putting together a reunion project heated up the Internet.

OutKast will embark on 40-date festival run later this year, so the rumors of a new album should only intensify. But last night on Howard Stern’s radio show, former Kast manager Queen Latifah dumped a whole gallon of gasoline on those dreams, telling Stern that Big Boi and Andre 3000 are “about to work on a new album.” (Complex)

New album or not, Three Stacks and Daddy Fat Sax will grace the stage at Alabama’s Hangout Festival this May.

The pair will be sharing the stage with the Black Keys, the Killers, Jack Johnson, Queens of the Stone Age, Pretty Lights, the Flaming Lips, the Avett Brothers, Modest Mouse and many more. Coming days after announcing that they will be playing their first shows in a decade, including Coachella, Delaware’s Firefly Festival, Governor’s Ball and Georgia’s Counterpoint Festival — Outkast’s Hangout gig is the fifth date in a promised 40-date festival run. Hangout hip-hop fans can also look forward to catching Wiz Khalifa, Le1f, emerging Chicago wordsmith Chance the Rapper, and Childish Gambino, who should recreate his “3005” video on the ferris wheel. They will also appear at New York’s annual Governors Ball later this year following a Coachella reunion in California.

The fest will be issuing hints about the rest of its lineup, which will feature over 80 artists, on its Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts in the coming days. The first of these looks like white noise on a television screen. The second is a picture of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur together. Governors Ball will announce its complete lineup, which may explain these pics, next week. Tickets to the fest will also go on sale next week. (Rolling Stone)
