Quavo will team up with the Legends brand to host his fifth annual charity football game, Huncho Day. The game will feature various celebrities, and all proceeds will be donated to the Rocket Foundation, which is dedicated to the memory of Takeoff, a fellow member of the Migos group who passed away.
Former Migos member Quavo will join forces with the Legends brand to host Huncho Day, a charity football game in Georgia, featuring celebrities and professional athletes. NFL players who are also expected to play in the game include D’Andre Swift, Patrick Surtain, Xavier McKinney, Marlon Humphrey, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, and more.
In addition, rappers that are expected to play include Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz. The “Greatness” rapper will be a team captain for Team Quavo and the other team captain for Team Ramsey will be Miami Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey.
Quavo, who used to play quarterback in high school, will once again utilize sports and entertainment to give back to kids in the same area where he grew up. According to a press release obtained by SOHH, the charity football game will be held at Berkmar High School in Lilburn, Ga. on April 29.
All proceeds will go to the newly established Rocket Foundation, which centers around violence prevention. The foundation is named after the late Migos rapper and Quavo’s nephew, Takeoff. “Rocket” was the late rapper’s nickname. Following the death of Takeoff in November 2022, Quavo has paid tribute to him in multiple ways.
This includes releasing a tribute song titled “Without You” and performing it at the Grammys on Feb. 5. Additionally, there have been accusations of subliminal disses between Quavo and his cousin, former Migos rapper Offset, but they have also taken turns honoring Takeoff.
