Atlanta rapper Quavo and Ella Mai‘s new solo albums easily landed on the Billboard 200 chart. After seven days of availability, their studio projects secured Top 5 spots.
Despite the A Star Is Born soundtrack securing No. 1 with 143,000 sold copies, Quavo’s Quavo Huncho managed to debut behind it.
In the runner-up slot on the new Billboard 200, Quavo’s Quavo Huncho zooms from No. 66 to No. 2, following its first full tracking week of activity. The Migos member’s debut solo album earned 99,000 units in the frame ending Oct. 18, with 6,000 of that sum coming from album sales. Rising R&B star Ella Mai lands the only bow in the top 10, as her self-titled full-length debut studio album enters at No. 5 (69,000 units; of which 17,000 were in album sales). (Billboard)
Initially estimates had Quavo and Ella’s new albums easily debuting on the Billboard 200 Top 10 chart.
Look for the Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper A Star Is Born ST to repeat at #1 next week, with early reads pointing to a total north of 125k. Here’s what we have so far for the two key new releases of the week:

Ella Mai (10 Summers/Interscope) 50-55k, 13-15k (HITS Daily Double)
