G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T has revealed the impact Jay Z‘s Reasonable Doubt debut album had on his personal life and explained why the classic release is responsible for strengthening hip-hop.
In Pusha’s perspective, Young Hov’s 1996 debut album stands in a class all by itself.
“Without a Reasonable Doubt, there’s not Pusha T,” the G.O.O.D. Music president said in an interview. “Without a Reasonable Doubt, there is no Pusha T. Period. Point. Blank. Gold album. One of my favorite albums of all time. Still comparing and trying to live up to the expectations – that set the bar, that set the criteria and that’s just artistically I’m talking. What it did for the culture, we could talk all day.” (Hot 97)
