Working Wednesday. We’re putting in some work SOHH why not get things going with Public Enemy landing some action figures? Speaking of the toy world, how about Marvel Comics making history by hiring the first black woman to write an upcoming comic? With the Marvel world on your mind, are you feeling Jean Grae‘s new Black Panther banger? All this coming up in SOHH Whatcha Think.

1. Collect ‘Em All

How much of a true hip-hop head are you? Does your knowledge go back to the 90’s, maybe even the 80’s? Father’s Day might have already passed but for any true hip-hop head who wants some dope stuff, there’s a Public Enemy toy set now available. Okayplayer is on it:

Throughout their near 40 year career, Public Enemy has been seen in countless manifestations, none of which compare to their in-the-flesh presence. But what if we told you that you could soon have your very own set of PE action figures? In September, Japanese toy company PopPress will begin shipping out die-cast PVC figures of Chuck D, Flavor Flav, Professor Griff and Terminator X, designed by Hip-Hop Family Tree author, Ed Piskor, and sold as a four-piece set. Are you feeling this? Do you have to cop it out of respect? Anyone think the Flavor Flav action figure is the best? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

Is it safe to say women are running things in 2016? Whether it’s Melania Trump or Michelle Obama, the female voice is strong. With the possibility of a female running the country in the coming months, it’s only right Marvel Comics has found its first black female to pen a new comic book. The Root is on it:

Roxane Gay is set to write a new Marvel comic book, the World of Wakanda, which will delve into the lives of the women of the Black Panther comic-book-series universe. It will be released in November, the New York Times reports. The feminist scribe will team up with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, who has written his own Black Panther series set in the fictional African nation. (The Root)

Are you pumped about this rollout? Anyone else think the Black Panther flick and comic will be incredibly awesome? Are you copping this in the fall? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

3. Marvel World

Don’t act like you’re not gassed up, the Black Panther flick is going to be lit and with so much anticipation building up, it’s only right hip-hop fiend Jean Grae has a banger for us to enjoy. Daily Bandcamp is on it:

Hard-driving and ruthlessly insistent, “What You Came For” finds Grae pushing her way through obstacles to find triumph and victory. As she puts it, “The amount of things recently that have made my heart soar are very minimal. It’s been a traumatic, gut-wrenching time. Getting the call to be a part of this project did make my heart soar. Getting a call from Marvel to do anything should do that, and it does—but it’s Black Panther, and Ta-Nehisi is writing it. I can’t think of any other artistic contribution that I would have wanted to do right now.” (Daily Bandcamp)

Are you pumped for this? Should Jean Grae do more Black Panther bangers? Is Jean Grae set for a huge rap takeover? #SOHHWhatchaThink?

That wraps it up for today. This is SOHH On The Spot giving you the scoop from your favorite gossip sites.
