[With a highly-anticipated 2 Chainz PRPS Jeans launch set to go down next week, founder/creator Donwan Harrell spoke to SOHH and other media outlets about working the music star.]
It was such an awesome opportunity to have him participate. He gave some really good ideas conceptually with the ‘x’ and the colors which is my job to take what his entity was and kind of create energy. If you look at the product, it really exemplifies his lyrics.
I know he’s a real big fan of the washes, so I was really impressed with the wash ideas that he had with the product. The [partnership] came together really organically.
All of 2 Chainz‘s ideas were original, dope and I wouldn’t have thought about it.
Having 2 Chainz around helped a lot because of the design and make of the jeans. Having him participate was great because it’s something different than what we’ve done in the past.
We’re very serious about our product and we’ve been around since 2002. We’re in the top stores. It was just kind of different. It was great to have a different perspective and interject this genre onto the jeans.
It’s a small, limited edition segment but I think it’s strong within the context of it.
