Mobb Deep’s Prodigy is keeping mum on the topic of sidekick Havoc having his Twitter page flooded with explicit self-shot photos and said they are focused on working.
Capital P said he has no idea what the story is behind Hav’s page being compromised but promised it would not slow down their summer grind.
“Nah man, to tell you the truth, I don’t know [what happened],” Prodigy said in an interview. “I can’t speak for Hav, I don’t know what’s going on with that, you know what I’m saying? All I know is what I’ve been focusing on, man, you know what I mean? As far as Hav, we’ve been killing these shows, 40 dates in the US. You know what I mean? He’s going overseas today to do some stuff overseas and then we finish up the tour in August. We got like, another 30 dates in August, in the US.” (“The Breakfast Club”)
Last week, Hav hit up SOHH and cleared the air on his Twitter incident.
“i [sic] really don’t think that a statement is necessary.,” Hav wrote via an exclusive statement provided to SOHH. “It’s Twitter after all and this kind of things [sic] happen all the time. I just decided to leave it alone.” (SOHH)
The photos worked up a ton of reactions from Mobb Deep fans and Twitter followers.
“Yo @Nas! Please check your homeboy Havoc bro! Son putting the Bridge into disrepute!” (The N)
“not havoc’s fault. he left his d**k at a gas station” (Ben Detrick)
“I guarantee Havoc’s phone got stolen and someone uploaded those pics from his phone. I refuse to believe anything else.” (Doughbeezy)
“Havoc has disgraced Queens. Havoc has disgraced New York” (DGH.)
“I don’t follow havoc but since he took over my TL I thought i’d see what everyone was talkin about. smh in a split second I saw 2 much! x__X” (StarChile)
Last year, Hav came clean on lying about his Twitter page being hacked when diss tweets directed toward Prodigy hit the Internet.
“The tweets is crazy,” said Havoc. “So it was you?” asked Creekmur. “Yeah,” said Havoc. “And I was speaking of a stand point of being mad, but still being truthful of how I felt – but it was just the wrong thing to do at that time.” As for the state of Mobb Deep, Havoc says they are taking a break.”Right now Mobb Deep is on hiatus, indefinitely…until things get hashed out,” Havoc told AllHipHop.com. “Eventually, the real story will come out; there’s two sides to every story. Only one has been spoken for.” (All Hip Hop)
In April 2012, Hav claimed someone stole his cell phone and posted the anti-Prodigy remarks.
“Just getting back into NY after my Easter weekend with family and friends in Jersey. I left my phone at a gas station yesterday evening while on my way to Jersey after a glorious Knick’s game. To all Mobb Deep fans: it’s business as usual! It’s Mobb Deep all day!!! My twitter account @THEREALHAVOC will be down until further notice. The only other real account is @PRODIGYMOBBDEEP. Ignore the rest. One!” (Statement)
