President Barack Obama, Alicia Keys, Karrueche Tran and more have come forward with reactions to the horrific Charleston, South Carolina shooting this week.

President Obama addressed the gruesome attack Thursday (June 18).

“I’ve had to make statements like these too many times,” he said. Yet again, he added, innocent people have been killed by someone “who wanted to inflict harm and had no problem attaining a gun.” “At some point we as a country will have to reckon with the fact that this kind of mass violence doesn’t happen in other advance countries,” he said. Various celebrities including Keri Hilson, Alicia Keys, Karrueche and Killer Mike have all reacted to the shooting on social media.

According to reports, a 21-year-old man is behind the horrific hate crime.

Charleston police named the suspect as Dylann Roof of Lexington, South Carolina. The gunman is believed to have sat in on a bible study meeting for up to an hour on Wednesday evening before opening fire, killing six women and three men including the church pastor. Officials have called it a hate crime. (BBC News)

One of the slain people included a government official.

“This is a very dangerous individual,” police Chief Greg Mullen said. Emanuel AME Church’s pastor, state Sen. Clementa Pinckney, was among those killed, state House Minority Leader Todd Rutherford told The Associated Press. (Chicago Tribune)

R.I.P. to the 9 killed in SC.

  2. He should be killed; but unfortunately there are people in this country that believe he has rights and that an eye for an eye isn’t the right thing to do.

  3. the only problem with killer mike is he rapped on royce da 5’9’s “PRHYME” album saying something like “i’m havin visions of killing christians” or something like that.. so he’s being hypocritical

so, how about maybe we find someone to speak who hasn’t rapped about wanting to kill christians in songs

  4. we know that ALL of these things have BEEN happening here since we were brought to this country,,pretty much from day one w/no let up,,but jus speaking on the years Obama has been in office,,imo he set a bad example when the black Harvard professor got arrested on his own front porch,,,Obama got involved didn’t even reprimand the cop(who openly dissed Obama) who did it and suggested the three of them sit down and have a beer together,,,he showed weakness,,cops(white males in general)) saw that there weren’t repercussions even when it reaches the highest level and its been open season on brothers ever since,,,cameras be damned
