President Barack Obama and rap star Kanye West are both reportedly set to attend the upcoming Democratic National Committee event in San Francisco next month.

According to reports, President Obama and Yeezy could meet face-to-face at the October 10 event.

The fundraiser is billed as an afternoon concert will be hosted at the Warfield—a 2,300 seat venue—with tickets selling for $250 to $10,000 each. West is expected to perform songs from his latest album, “Swish.” (NBC Bay Area)

This week, Kanye talked about announcing his candidacy in the 2020 presidential election at last month’s MTV Video Music Awards.

“And then as soon as I said that, it was like, “Wait a second, we would really be into that, because actually if you think about it, he’s extremely thoughtful. Every time he’s ever gotten in trouble, he was really jumping in front of a bullet for someone else. He’s probably the most honest celebrity that we have.” I didn’t approach that because I thought it would be fun. It wasn’t like, Oh, let’s go rent some jet skis in Hawaii. No, the exact opposite. I sit in clubs and I’m like, Wow, I’ve got five years before I go and run for office and I’ve got a lot of research to do, I’ve got a lot of growing up to do. My dad has two masters degrees. My mom has a PhD, she used to work at Operation PUSH. Somehow the more and more creative I get, the closer and closer I get to who I was as a child. When I was a child, I was holding my mom’s hand at Operation PUSH. I think it’s time. Rap is great.” (Vanity Fair)

Recently, presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton weighed in on Kanye possibly running for head of state in 2020.

Hillary Clinton has some advice for Kanye West if he runs for President: Wear sensible shoes. “Well, if I’m going for my second term, to wait four years, but if I’m not … be sure he has comfortable shoes because there’s a lot of walking involved,” she said during an interview with Extra when asked what advice she had for the hip-hop star. Earlier this month, Mrs. Clinton’s daughter Chelsea expressed her support and gratitude for Yeezy bringing attention to the presidency during his MTV Video Music Awards appearance last month.

“I definitely think who runs for office is really important,” Chelsea Clinton explained. “Even if him just saying that helps spark a little boy or a little girl who was watching the VMAs to think, ‘Oh, wow! Maybe I should do that,’ that’s awesome.” (MTV)
