Florida rapper Plies may not be a Los Angeles Clippers fan but he’s siding with the team and most of America by dropping his new “Donald Sterling: Racist Muthaf*cka” track aimed at the ousted owner.
On the track, Plies unleashes some fury toward Donald Sterling over making racist remarks on a leaked alleged audio recording.
Everyone from Lil Wayne to President Obama has weighed in on Donald Sterling’s racist remarks. Now Plies goes on the record with an expletive-laden song dedicated to the Clippers owner, who was banned from the NBA today. “They say the world that we live in is such a beautiful place / But how the f*ck that is the case if you still judge by race?” he asks on the Shawn T.-produced track. Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy acknowledged Sterling receiving a lifetime ban yesterday (April 29).
“I will always be a Knicks fan, but I am a business man. #DiddyBuyTheClippers #NameYourPrice,” Puff wrote April 29.
“Seriously….I applaud Commissioner Silver and the @NBA for quick and decisive action. #BiggerThanBasketball” (Diddy’s Twitter)
The NBA announced its hefty punishment against him early Tuesday.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued sweeping sanctions against Donald Sterling on Tuesday morning in response to controversial remarks about blacks purportedly made by Sterling. Silver said the Clippers owner was banned from any association with the team for life and fined $2.5 million. Silver added that he would urge other owners to force a sale of the team. For the time being, Sterling’s wife may serve as the team’s active owner.
“There has been no decision about other members of his family,” Silver said. “This ruling applies specifically to Donald Sterling and Donald Sterling only.” A high-level NBA executive told the Daily News before Silver’s press conference Tuesday afternoon that he believed Silver could allow Shelly Sterling to assume control of the team, in effect operating as a managing general partner.
