I produced Lil Jon‘s new single, “Take It Off,” which is a Latin EDM record. We got Yandel with Becky G. Play-N-Skillz produced that and I’ve worked with Jon for many, many years.

So I’ve watched him reinvent himself and I think it’s amazing.

I’m a fan of him, number one. We’re friends but for him to go conquer it, I don’t even think people believe the crowds he plays for. Overseas. Big festivals.

It was good too because it allowed the EDM culture to embrace a hip-hop icon, a hip-hop deejay, and say, ‘It’s OK for you guys to come over here.’

Sometimes with EDM, they want to keep their culture closed but it’s OK for them to do hip-hop stuff and trap and it’s OK for us to do it as well.

Jon is the perfect guy with his energy and everything else.
