Details of the horrific incident have surfaced online this week with Pennsylvania police searching for suspect Conroy Williams.

The hit-and-run occurred just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday on the 900 block of Bedford Avenue in Collingdale. Friends and neighbors have identified the victim as 36-year-old Joel Witherspoon. Investigators say Williams was driving a black Range Rover and waited at the end of a dead-end street. Witherspoon was standing next to his white Cadillac, in front of his home, when police say Williams sped down the block and struck him with the SUV. The Range Rover hit several cars before slamming head on into neighbor James Williams’ Chrysler 300. (ABC Local)

An unknown female may also be directly involved in the near-fatal attack.

Police say Williams then jumped into another vehicle which had a female driver. “The victim was, we believe to be, an ex-boyfriend of the female. The owner of the Range Rover, we were told, has a child with the female,” Collingdale Police Chief Bob Adams said. Chief Adams says his officers have responded to domestic calls to Witherspoon’s home in the past and someone even recently vandalized the victim’s Cadillac. Witherspoon suffered two broken legs and head injuries. He was last reported to be in critical condition at Crozer Chester Medical Center. (ABC Local)

Philly’s Most Wanted member Boo-Bonic addressed the crime last weekend.

“Pray for my brother @lilmanswp SMH,” he wrote on Instagram with a photo of Witherspoon April 19. (Boo-Bonic’s Instagram)

Witherspoon’s most known for his early 2000’s run as Philly’s Most Wanted.

Helmed by the Neptunes just as the production duo had begun overtaking the entire rap industry, Philly’s Most Wanted’s debut album, Get Down or Lay Down (2001), made a huge, albeit momentary, impact upon its release. Comprised of Mr. Man and Boo-Bonic, the duo didn’t have many credentials at the time, so the Neptunes affiliation helped them garner national radio support for “Cross the Border” and “Please Don’t Mind.” The pair released their second album in 2004, which did not involve the Neptunes in any capacity.
