Johnson announced his boycott launch Monday (July 16) morning.

Hip Hop fans can begin to take back the power from Media Moguls and Artists that only care about Money. Today, by making our grievances known to Bruce Demps, Regional VP of Radio One in Philadelphia, we can began to call labels, stations, and artists to a higher standard. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. (Press Release)

He also provided a step-by-step procedure for supporters to follow.

STEPS 1. Call and Ask for Bruce Demps: #610-583-1100 Let them know you have a customer complaint. 2. Either speak to him directly or leave message. 3. Message: Meek Mill’s Amen Song is disrespectful to Christians, request that none of his music be played until he apologizes. 4. Let them know if Meek is continued to be played, you will boycott all Radio One Stations, TV, and Websites. 5. Thank them for their time. 6. Repeat 2-3 times a day if possible while inviting others to do so through Facebook, Twitter, Blog, and Video Posts. 7. Call your local Radio station and ask them not to play the Amen Song because you find it offensive to people of faith. Repeat steps. This boycott is meant to last all the way up until September 5th, 2012. (A period of about 6 weeks) (Press Release)

At the end of his announcement, Jomo lists what goals he hopes to achieve from the boycott.

OBJECTIVES: 1. To seek a public apology from Meek Mill 2. To cause a greater awareness in the Hip Hop community of abuse of freedom of speech in the area of religious insensitivity, misogyny, and blasphemy. 3. To make every artist, label, and station, fear to put religiously offensive music on air. IF CHANGE IS GOING TO HAPPEN, IT MUST START SOMEWHERE WITH SOMEONE. Thank you. And please share. (Press Release)

Last week, Mill publicly defended his “Amen” record and had a radio debate with Johnson.

Right as the on air conversation between the two began, Meek voiced his concerns. “This looking like you trying to get famous, or you need some attention, because you could have came to me and said anything you wanted to say,” he said. “I mighta helped you. If you needed money for your church, I mighta woulda gave you that money. I mighta even remixed the song with Kirk Franklin. Anything you wanted to do. You went about it like you looking for attention and fame.” Johnson retorted, “My plea to you is to turn from sin, turn from blasphemy, turn from unrighteousness, that you’re purporting in your music–turn to Jesus Christ and receive eternal life. It doesn’t matter how much money you get, without Jesus Christ you will be lost eternally.” The Pastor said he had once served four years in jail, for aggravated assault on an officer, and God changed his life.
