Music producer Pharrell Williams recently updated fans on the mainstream return of longtime pal Missy Elliott and dished on her in-studio genius.
Appearing on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” this week, Pharrell revealed he had been working with Missy.
“Shout-out to Virginia, [I’m working with] Missy Elliott. Yeah. Yes sir. Listen, her mind, the way her mind works, like, we’re in the studio and the things that she says and thinks about, and like her video concepts, I didn’t know that all of those video concepts were hers. I’m so proud of her. That’s Virginia.” (“The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”)
Missy revealed an in-studio picture alongside Skateboard P via her Twitter page in February.

Missy posted up a shot alongside producer Timbaland onto social media a couple months ago.

In February, Elliott joined pop diva Katy Perry on-stage and performed her early 2000’s hit “Get Ur Freak On” at Super Bowl XLIX.
When Perry launched into “Teenage Dream,” dancing beach balls, surfboards, sharks and even palm trees joined her on stage. Then Missy Elliott had a surprise cameo and sang, “Get Ur Freak on” Perry finished the show with an explosive rendition of “Firework” and it was explosive — with plenty of fireworks taking flight outside the stadium. Missy can come back and set it off like she never left. She always had the dopest visuals and wild energy on her records that’ll have the building go crazy. 757 stand up.
