Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf is the latest public figure to rally up support for everyone’s favorite Dreamchaser. The politician has come forward to back Meek Mill in getting released on bail.

Governor Wolf went to Twitter Friday (March 23) to express his interest in seeing Meek freed.

Earlier this week, Meek’s attorneys went to court to request Judge Genece Brinkley be removed from determining his fate in an upcoming bail hearing appearance.

According to the motion, Mill’s legal team alleges that Brinkley “exceeded the judicial role by sometimes essentially acting as a prosecutor and, at other times, taking an unusual interest in, and trying to inject herself into, [Meek Mill’s] personal and professional life.” Brinkley has scheduled a hearing for Meek Mill’s appeal on April 16. Meek’s attorney also took action Monday (March 19) in hopes of having him released while he awaits an upcoming hearing appearance.

Meek’s attorneys filed docs Monday requesting he be released from prison on bail while he awaits a hearing to overturn his 2-4 year prison sentence. He points out the Philly D.A.’s Office has said it would not oppose his release on bail … due to a wide-reaching police corruption case involving Meek’s arresting officer, Reginald Graham. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Meek says his initial conviction was based on Graham’s perjured testimony. (TMZ)

A few days ago, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner made headlines for not opposing Meek Mill’s attempt to get out of jail on bail.

One day after the mother of Philadelphia rapper Meek Mill publicly asked District Attorney Larry Krasner to help free her son from jail, prosecutors answered the call. “The office is not opposed to him being out on bail,” Krasner spokesman Ben Waxman told NBC10. In a motion filed Wednesday in Common Pleas Court, prosecutors said “there is a strong likelihood of [Mill’s] conviction being reversed” as a result of allegedly false testimony provided more than 10 years ago.
