R&B singer Robin Thicke may have some explaining to do as reports claim he proposed to 20-year-old model girlfriend April Love Geary.
While details are scarce, Thicke’s representative denied the engagement rumors.
The 38-year-old singer is reportedly engaged to his girlfriend April Love Geary after less than a year of dating,according to Life & Style Weekly. “Robin recently proposed to April and she said yes,” a source close to the couple told the mag. Despite his parents’ disapproval with the speed he’s taking with Geary, “he doesn’t want to risk losing her.” But, according to a rep for Thicke, the report is “100% not true.” (NY Daily News)
Rumors about Thicke’s alleged proposal bubbled online Wednesday (August 5).
“Robin recently proposed to April and she said yes,” a source close to the couple tells Life & Style. Robin and April, who are 18 years apart in age, have only been dating since October, but, according to the source, “he doesn’t want to risk losing her.” (Life & Style)
Despite his public pleas, Thicke recently said he had not seen Paula since earlier this year.
“I haven’t seen her for four months. She’s the best girl in the world, a great mother and still a good friend. But I also want to wish her well and let her know that she’s a great person and she deserves to have a good life,” Thicke said in an interview. “I’m a man. I messed up and I had to lie for a while, and then I stopped lying. This whole album is me revealing everything.” (Hot 97)
Robin reached out to Paula during his performance of “Forever Love” at the 2014 BET Awards show last summer.
“I’d like to dedicate this song to my wife. And say ‘I miss you’ and ‘I’m sorry,” Robin Thicke said, before performing his new song “Forever Love,” for the first time on live television. “Forever Love” follows up “Get Her Back,” both off his album dedicated and titled after his estranged wife, actress Paula Patton. “He singing like she don’t know him,” Chris Rock joked after Thicke’s performance.
