Paranormal Activity Director Talks Hollywood Politics: “The World Is Changing Beneath Our Feet”

[With “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” now available on Digital HD/On Demand, director Jason Blum talks to SOHH about the battle between film companies opting to have its movies available sooner via On Demand and theaters responding by refusing to show them at specific locations.]

At the end of the day, distribution is changing and I’m happy with the way the studio has tried to shake things up a little bit.

I think we all have to wrap our minds around the fact the world is changing beneath our feet and we have to adapt to it. I was happy that the studio took a small step in adapting.

Obviously I wish more theaters were going along with [showing “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension”] and people had more access to a theater they wanted to see it in but I can’t say I wasn’t in favor of this strategy from the very beginning.
