[With the new “Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension” premiering nationwide Friday, October 23, director Jason Blum talks to SOHH about the iconic franchise coming to a satisfying end.]
It was really fun to do the last one because we decided it was going to be the last one before it came out as opposed to waiting for it to come out.
Usually the way horror franchises end is the last movie doesn’t do well at the box office so they decide it’s the end. But we decided beforehand, kind of proactively, which for me was great because we got to answer the questions that people have had about the series and tie up the loose ends.
So it was actually really fun for me.
We spent a lot of time trying to answer every question and I think the first five movies, or the first four depending on how you count, we answered some of them and posed more. But in this one, we focused on answering everything that people have been wondering about.
That’s been great.
It’s been a really fun experience and something we haven’t gotten to do before.
