Music mogul Jay Z‘s popular Made In America festival is reportedly steering clear of returning to the streets of Los Angeles, California this year and, instead, opting to do a free concert in Hov’s New York City hometown.

According to reports, Jigga Man’s annual set will again go down in Pennsylvania and now the Big Apple.

The festival, now in its fourth year, will again return to its birthplace of Philadelphia (Jay Z’s fledgling streaming service Tidal has been offering all kinds of ticket specials). But instead of staging a simultaneous L.A. edition, Made in America will host a free concert on New York’s Liberty Island, Billboard reported Thursday morning. (Billboard has since taken the story down from its website. The Times confirmed with representatives from Live Nation that the festival is not returning to Los Angeles.) (Los Angeles Times)

A Live Nation executive has since come forward to address Jay’s concert not returning to the City of Angels.

“This is not at all a stepping back — this is a reevaluation of the model of going from one location to two to three,” Budweiser VP of marketing Brian Perkins said. “We’re a very ambitious brand, and we have a very ambitious partner in Jay Z, who also dreams big. And we always want to do big, bold things with music under the moniker of Budweiser Made In America.” (Billboard)

R&B icon Mary J. Blige is expected to perform at the free New York City festival.

In a story on Billboard that has since been taken down, it was revealed that Made in America will instead hold a concurrent Labor Day concert series across New York City. The NYC shows will be anchored by Mary J. Blige performing on Liberty Island. (Music Times)

Last year, Hustle Gang affiliate Iggy Azalea and Roc Nation’s Rita Ora teamed up for a performance at the LA showcase.

Made in America never sounded better, err, looked better, than when Iggy Azaelea and Rita Ora brought their Aussie-Britty hot stage and concert show to Los Angeles over the Labor Day weekend. I can’t comment much as to the music, but as to the two young pop divas prancing around the stage in showy costumes and pretending to kiss and fondle each other, well, you know how I feel about even pretend lesbionics. (Egotastic!)
