For the former G-Unit member, fame plays a major factor in discovering romance.

“It’s hard to find someone who loves you for you in my industry. Sometimes people just love you for the glitz and glamour. Every woman has to deal with it; a man after you for all the wrong reasons and I just think when you add a little fame it makes it worst. All in all, I am like every other woman, just looking for a good man that I can share and partner with through life. It seems like it wouldn’t be so difficult, but as WOMEN we know how hard it is to find a good MAN. I don’t want a boy, I don’t want a toy, I just want a MAN. So no, every man I take a picture with is not my ‘boo.’ Every man I am talking with is not my ‘boo.’ Every man I am walking with is not my ‘boo.’ When I find him, please believe you will know, because I will shout it from every mountaintop. Like any woman who found her good man, we like to show him off, we like to brag, we like for the world to know.” (VIBE)

Recently, Nicki Minaj talked about putting music over a sex life.

“I have no dating life, I can only hope and wish and imagine and fantasize,” she said in an interview. “They demand too much. In life there’s always going to be one thing that takes precedence, and when you’re as hungry as I am you have tunnel vision. So I can’t really cater to a dude right now — I love them and I think they’re cute, but I can’t do what they want me to do for them right now. I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii. I really want to go there and just lay on the beach. Then, also, I could have the other rap girls feed me fruit–since they don’t have anything to do right now! [Laughs.] Strawberries, grapes, watermelon, and pineapple. I so know that part is going to make the interview.” (Complex)

Rap mogul Diddy recently blamed his work ethic for keeping him from focusing on love.

“I’ve had a lot of success and I’ve had a lot of material things, but I’ve never conquered love,” he revealed in an interview. “I’ve never just had that always successful relationship. That’s due to the fact of me working and not paying attention to the girl, or me also feeling that the girl doesn’t appreciate me. And then I get a girl that really knows how to love me and I’ll press the self-destruct button because it makes me feel uncomfortable that she’s loving me so much.” (Parade)

Last year, Diddy said his “fear” has pushed him to cheat on women while in relationships.

“A couple years ago, my psychologist came to the conclusion that this is one of the big problems I have as far as maturing in a relationship,” Diddy explained in an interview. “After my father got killed, my mother said, ‘I’m never getting married again. I don’t want men around my children.’ So I’ve never actually been able to witness a husband and wife’s love. Sometimes when I see it with my friends, I just find myself staring like a child, because I’ve never actually seen it before. It’s one of the sad parts of my life. When a relationship gets to a certain point, I probably get scared and become a little self-destructive. [If caught cheating,] cry. It might not work, but it at least shows that you care. Godd*mn, this is a deep interview. You didn’t ask Will Smith none of this sh*t! Yeah, it hurts me. One of my weaknesses is that I actually have a conscience.” (ELLE Magazine)
