R&B superstar Justin Timberlake is going to grab his suit and tie and blaze the stage at Super Bowl LII. The high-profile entertainer has officially received the green light to perform at the annual NFL championship game.
After mounted speculation, the NFL made Timberlake official Sunday (October 22) with a media statement.
Global superstar Justin Timberlake will headline the Pepsi Super Bowl LII Halftime Show on NBC at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, it was confirmed tonight. Last month, speculation developed over Timberlake possibly headlining next February’s Super Bowl halftime show.
According to multiple sources, Justin Timberlake is the frontrunner to perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show. It’s hard to believe this February will mark 14 years since Timberlake’s baring of Janet Jackson’s right breast during halftime of Super Bowl XXXVIII at Houston’s Reliant Stadium. (Variety)
A few weeks ago, the NFL addressed hype about Justin’s longtime pal JAY-Z getting considered for the halftime set.
“No decisions have been made on the performer(s) and we are not going to speculate on particular artists,” the NFL said in a statement on Wednesday. “Along with Pepsi, we know that we will put on a spectacular show. When it is time to announce her name we will do it. Or his name. Or their names.” (Statement)
