OVO Sound leader Drake’s new Views album release is now officially the best opening week sales he’s ever experienced.
In just seven days, Drizzy’s latest solo offering easily sold more than a million copies.
The rapper’s latest release, Views, earned 1.04 million equivalent album units, including 852 thousand copies sold, for the week ending Thursday to top the Billboard 200 chart, according to Nielsen Music figures. Not only is it his best-selling week to date, but it’s also the best-selling week for any artist so far this year. A few days ago, Drake hinted at possible plans to release a joint album with OVO Sound’s PartyNextDoor.
Recent reports claimed Drake’s latest solo offering, Views, had already sold over 1 million copies in less than a week.
The label reports that VIEWS has sold 1.2 million copies (including streaming album equivalents) across the world in less than six days after its release, with over a million of those sales coming from the U.S. In addition, in that same time frame, VIEWS was streamed over 250 million times, with over 200 million of those coming from within the United States.
