Taco Opens Up

Travis Bennett, also known as Taco from the hip-hop collective Odd Future was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live. During the interview, Bennett dished on working alongside Eddie Murphy, Lauren London, and more of the star-studded cast of the new Netflix film You People.

The Odd Future member shares his first day of filming the Netflix original with Eddie: “I’m walking with Eddie Murphy. This is, Coming to America, Donkey from Shrek, everything that you love,” the rapper-turned-actor says.

“I’m walking, and I just hear ‘Travis! Travis!’ and he’s like, ‘Do you know those people?’ and I look, and I see my mother and two of her friends and immediately was like, ‘They’re just fans of the show, no big deal.”

Taco’s Unusual BFF Match With Kendall Jenner

Bennett gushed on working with the stars that he once watched growing up, “Everyone I grew up watching is in this movie and I, as a young actor who has the slight experience, it’s nerve-wracking. You just lean into the nervousness and treat it like excitement.”

He also mentioned how he became best friends with socialite and influencer Kendall Jenner in an unusual way.

“I was 18 years old,” Taco said. “And I put on Twitter, ‘I want to meet Kendall Jenner for my birthday.” A woman named Julia, who is good friends with Jenner, soon reached out to set up a meeting between the two, and they have been inseparable ever since.

The Netflix original film You People will be released on January 27.
