Group member Tyler, the Creator announced his crew’s denied entrace into New Zealand late Wednesday (February 12) night.

“OF IS BANNED FROM NEW ZEALAND, AGAIN. THEY SAID WE WERE ‘TERRORIST THREATS AND BAD FOR THE SOCIETY’ OR WHATEVER. SICK. THEY ARE ANTI GOLF,” Tyler tweeted February 12.

The group’s manager also confirmed the incident went down.

Manager Christian Clancy expressed his dissatisfaction at the immigration decision on Twitter. “Sorry New Zealand apparently this group of kids that have inspired the shit out of me for the last few years are a threat to society,” Clancy said. “And thanks for the hour before flight heads up. After approving and issuing visas.” (New Zealand Herald)

Reports claim backlash over OF coming to New Zealand mounted earlier in the month.

The immigration ban comes days after sexual violence advocacy group Stop Demand emailed Auckland councillors, criticising the decision to allow the group to perform at the Western Springs event. The email quoted several lyrics from Odd Future referencing rape. Founder Denise Ritchie said yesterday, before the ban, the council should have made a stand against allowing the group to perform. According to reports, Tyler’s crew were slated to hype up rap star Eminem’s Rapture Festival this upcoming weekend.

The band, who were due to to support Eminem at the Rapture Festival on Saturday in Auckland, had their visas denied. Authorities reportedly refused to approve the six group members visas after becoming aware of a incident in Boston in 2011 where witnesses claimed members incited fans to attack police officers.
