Music mogul Jay Z continues to go the extra mile to push his new Tidal streaming service by announcing a New York concert exclusively for its subscribers.

According to reports, the event will go down next month at an “intimate” venue.

Jay Z announced an exclusive New York concert for Tidal subscribers that will find the rapper performing tracks he’s never played onstage or songs that haven’t been part of his live arsenal for over a decade. Dubbed “Tidal X: Jay Z B-Sides,” the one-off concert will come to an as-yet-unnamed “intimate New York City” venue on May 13th. (Rolling Stone)

The hip-hop heavyweight is heavily relying on social media to help push the event.

The concert, set to take place on May 13 in an “intimate New York City venue” according to the announcement, will be live-streamed on the Tidal website for subscribers. But fans can win tickets to the event by curating a playlist on Tidal and sharing it on Twitter with the hashtag #TIDALXJAYZ. The winners will be chosen based on the quality of the sequencing and the diversity of genres and artists, which means its time to put those mixtape skills to work if you want to get close to Hov—or, if you’re lucky, any of the other famous Tidal owners who could probably be persuaded to make a special appearance. Relying on spoofing Jay’s “TIDALFacts” weekend tweets, a new Twitter account has launched this week and pokes fun at the new service.

Young Hov resorted to his Twitter page Sunday (April 26) to assure Tidal subscribers of the service’s promising future.

Reports last week claimed Jay Z may release a long-awaited joint album with R&B wife Beyoncé exclusively through Tidal.

The long-rumored Beyoncé and Jay Z joint album will reportedly be released exclusively on Tidal, according to DJ Skee. The host of Skee TV revealed last September that the couple was working on an album together. In his latest segment on Skee TV, the DJ reports that sources have told him the album is “nearing completion.” (Huffington Post)

  1. I’m not from NY… And i will assume your not…but you read and commented on it…you and i care!

  2. Desperation mode for Jay-Z. He needs to let it go. Nobody is going to over pay, for the richest artists in the industry to get more money.
