[With French Montana and Drake’s “No Shopping” music video launching as one of the biggest visuals of the summer, director Carlos “Spiff TV” Suarez tells SOHH how an initial complication turned into the clip’s epic golf tournament skit.]
One of the Dominican Republic locations we were going to shoot at, I remember we were setting up to shoot and the people there came and jammed us like, “No, you guys can’t shoot here.”
We were like, “F*ck, what are we going to do?” So we start thinking and then one of the guys out there that came to help with the villas and anything that we needed, he found us another villa and that had the golf course from “No Shopping” behind it and we were like, “Let’s get some golf carts and golf clubs and let’s do this.”

That’s how that whole golf sequence came about.
It was really fourth quarter, ten seconds to go type of sh*t. We would have had the skit but it may not have been the golf skit. But it happened and ended up being legendary with El Coke Boys Clasico.
