I’m definitely not a rapper. I’m a singer.

I’m a singer, for sure. I’ve been singing since I was nine-years-old. I was heavily influenced by people like Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder and Prince to become a singer. I’ve wanted to be a singer my whole life.

Personal life experiences and hooking up with No I.D., I definitely listen to more hip-hop than I did before. I also grew up with Lauryn Hill as one of my biggest influences as a female artist. She raps and sings. But I wasn’t trying to be a rapper. I’m inspired by what she’s about and the fact she has a message in her songs. That’s what I’m trying to do with my music.

I’m born in Sweden. I grew up in Sweden. I did music there. I always kind of new I had to come here, to Los Angeles, at some point, to do music. I’m heavily influenced and almost everyone I look up to is from here.

When I met No I.D. and we started working, it just became a natural thing. At first I would travel back and forth for a few months, working here and then going back to Sweden, and then when I got signed to Sony, I got a work visa, so Los Angeles is my base.

I don’t see myself as having a big break yet. I’m just getting started. I’ve been doing music since a very young age in Sweden. I wrote my first song when I was nine. I got signed when I was fourteen and I got my first deal.
