According to reports, Minaj cost a rental company around $12,000 in damages.

The plaintiff, Hollywood Exotic Car Rental, claims Minaj agreed to rent a 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago — at the rate of $1,750 a day — to shoot her “Massive Attack” music video. But according to the suit — filed today in L.A. County Superior Court — the exotic car was driven “off-road” and damaged “in the approximate amount of $11,589.41.” Plus, they allege, Minaj didn’t pay three days rent on the car — that’s another $5,250. The rental company is suing for unpaid rental charges, property damage, and punitive damage. (TMZ)

Minaj’s “Massive Attack” music video was released online last April.

Maybe we’ve been watching too many music videos, but this just seems like a derivative of Gaga, Rihanna, Stefani, and Beyoncé, with Amber Rose and a bunch of creepy-crawlies thrown in. (Nicki’s signature pop-eyed “I’m so scary” bit is getting a little old, too.) We do like the song, though. (NY Mag)

Aside from legal issues, Minaj is currently working on her upcoming untitled album with help from producers like Swizz Beatz.

“He definitely expressed interest in an interview one time,” Nicki told radio host Jenny Boom Boom. “I was excited because I was like, ‘Swizz Beatz, I love his style.’ And as a matter of fact, we got some sh*t…It’s one song called ‘Catch Me’ that will definitely make the album and it’s a masterpiece from me and Swizz. It’s a little singing, a little rapping, but it’s like a different vibe. It’s a moody vibe. It’s just dope. And the beat sounds really futuristic, but it’s mellow futuristic. It puts you in this weird…like you’re high type sh*t, even though I don’t get high and I never have.” (Jenny Boom Boom)

Earlier this year, the rapper talked about not rushing out the debut.

“I’ve gotten great feedback from artists I look up to and never thought I’d work with,” she explained in an interview. “They’re already in line to be on the project. But it’s like, ‘Do I want to put out a debut album with a thousand features on it or do I wanna finally showcase Nicki?’ I’m not worried about features at all…With the album, I think it’s more important that people get accustomed to seeing a female rapper again. Before I drop an album, people need to come out and see. People don’t even know what a female rapper does. We’re so not used to seeing it. It’s nonexistent in categories. We don’t get nominated. I need to work [the people] up to accepting a female rapper again and accepting my style and all of that — then the album will come. Honestly, I’d love to put an album out this year, but I don’t believe in rushing things either.” (MTV)
