Buzz about the backlash her cartoon-based clip has received bubbled online Monday (November 10).

Rapper Nicki Minaj is under fire for her alleged use of Nazi imagery in an official lyric video for her new single “Only,” featuring Lil Wayne and Drake, who is half Jewish. The video is a black and white animated comic with red accents, featuring a cartoon Minaj as a reigning dictator, Chris Brown as a military leader, Drake as a religious leader and Lil Wayne as a business mogul. The Anti-Defamation League has taken specific aim at Nicki over the clip.

“Nicki Minaj’s new video disturbingly evokes Third Reich propaganda and constitutes a new low for pop culture’s exploitation of Nazi symbolism,” Abraham H. Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League and a Holocaust survivor, told FOX411 in a statement. “The irony should be lost on no one that this video debuted on the 76th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the ‘night of broken glass’ pogrom that signaled the beginning of the Final Solution and the Holocaust.” (Fox News)

The organization also questioned why no one in Nicki’s camp considered the clip’s harm before it emerged online last weekend.

“It is troubling that no one among Minaj’s group of producers, publicists and managers raised a red flag about the use of such imagery before ushering the video into public release,” said Foxman, a Holocaust survivor. “This video is insensitive to Holocaust survivors and a trivialization of the history of that era. The abuse of Nazi imagery is deeply disturbing and offensive to Jews and all those who can recall the sacrifices Americans and many others had to make as a result of Hitler’s Nazi juggernaut.” (NY Daily News)

Social media users also jumped at the opportunity to dish out their issues.

“Nicki Minaj’s new video makes me very uncomfortable whether it was intentional or not I don’t think it’s ok to use Nazi imagery like that,” was one of the many responses on Twitter according to the report. “Drake I don’t get how you’re Jewish participating in a video that is clearly mimicking Nazi propaganda like are you dumb or do u not care?,” someone tweeted. 1. Kinda surprised Drake didn’t speak out but then again he’s busy at all the Raptors games. lol

  2. Definitely seems like an attention grabber move. On another note, I though it was only Black people who came out in protest and to level accusations against people (sarcasm). They did this to Michael Jacksn, Kanye West, now Nicki.

  3. They did three or four slave movies this past year nobody had a problem with that at all but there is such outrage for one video this is entertainment you do not have to click on the video if you don’t want to see it

    • Exactly! Some cities and states still fly the rebel flag. On top of that, there are plenty of country music stars that have that loser flag in their videos and at their concerts. Nobody criticizes those racist cowards.

        • My favorite was MJG burning it on his album cover….yell back even louder screaming “Black Power”! The flags of nazi germany and the confederate south are the most known symbols of defeat in the world lol.
