Young Money's Nicki Minaj recently talked about turning heads by going back to her natural hair and ditching some over-the-top outfits for her public outings.
According to Minaj, she said her decision to lessen the loud fashion statements has sparked even more attention as of late.
“I went so far to the other side that there’s only one place to go from there,” Minaj told us while promoting “The Other Woman.” “You can either continue doing costumes or you can just say, ‘Hey guess what? This will shock them even more. Doing nothing will shock them even more.'” (MTV)
The one-time proclaimed “Barbie” also updated fans on the status of her solo LP.
“The tracks on Pink Print are back to my hip-hop roots. And I don’t think it’s something that I’m necessarily trying to do. As soon as I started working on my new album, that’s just the songs that I’ve been writing,” she said, adding that not every track on the album is like “Lookin’ Ass” and “Chi-Raq.” (MTV)

Nicki says she’s putting her myriad of outside ventures and interests, like fashion, on the back burner while she completes the effort. “I’m just working on the album. Nothing is gonna take precedence over that,” she says. “Nothing matters to me more than creating a classic album right now. All of that can wait. I don’t care about none of that.
