According to reports, Nicki’s recent collaborations with music divas Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Ariana Grande have created an edge.

According to the publication, the rapper’s two new singles, “Feeling Myself,” featuring Beyonce and “Get on Your Knees” with Ariana Grande, have debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at #43 and #88 respectively, which gives Nicki 58 career Hot 100 hits. That means that among female artists who’ve charted, she’s surpassed Madonna, with whom she’s recently collaborated with on “B***h I’m Madonna,” as well as Dionne Warwick — who have 56 Hot 100 entries a piece. Despite the success, Nicki still faces still competition on the Hot 100 from country star Taylor Swift and soul legend Aretha Franklin.

Another passing of the torch is imminent on the Billboard charts. Nicki Minaj has tied Madonna’s and Dionne Warwick‘s record for most singles on the Hot 100 chart, the music trade publication reports. The trio are tied for third place at 56 singles each. They are surpassed only by Taylor Swift, in second place with 66 singles, and Aretha Franklin, who leads with 73. (BET)

Last week, an unexpected Nicki and Madonna collaboration premiered online.

Madonna made her surprise return to music on Friday night. At the stroke of midnight, the pop icon announced her 13th album Rebel Heart and dropped six tracks including “Unapologetic B*tch,” the Kanye West and Mike Dean-produced “Illuminati,” and “B*tch I’m Madonna,” on which she reunites with Nicki Minaj. Minaj recently gave props to music stars like Beyoncé but also dished on her own talent in an interview.

“I think about all the female icons that we cherished and loved, and they never had children. Like Janet – I personally love what Beyoncé has been able to do. I want to focus on the child,” Nicki said. “I am the greatest female rapper, and it’s humbling because the people make you that. I wanna let the hip-hop culture know I take this serious.” (CRWN)
