Young Money superstar Nicki Minaj recently talked about her dream wedding and why Grammy-winning singer Beyonce would play a role at the special occasion.
Despite being 26, Minaj said she would wait until her 40’s before tying the knot.
The 26-year-old MC planned out her next 20 years in VIBE’s Juice issue, revealing that she’ll be ready to settle down in 15 years. “I want the beach wedding,” Minaj said. “Everything would be white and soft pink. I hate red!” She continues: “I’d be wearing a strapless dress, gripping around the waist, with a never-ending train. No shoes, just my feet in the sand.” As for guests, there’s room for little Barbies and a special performer not in Lil Wayne‘s crew. “[I’d] have five little flower girls dressed in Hawaiian straw skirts,” Minaj says. “Then Beyoncé would sing ‘Smash Into You’ and I’d cry like, ‘Oh God.'” (VIBE)
Recently, Minaj and Young Money labelmate Drake pranked fans on Twitter tweeting that they were married.
“No, Drama, don’t be silly,” Minaj told DJ Drama when asked about expecting kids with Drake. “Drake is just my little brother and I kid with him all the time. That’s all. Yes, yes, we were just being crazy and I think we were a little bit bored. I wouldn’t say we were bored, but we were being just mischievous. I did another interview and they asked me and I said, everyday I see things written about me that aren’t true. So I wanted to kinda give the blogs a little bit of payback and put my own story out. [laughs] I don’t date boys, I don’t like boys. [laughs] It’s true — I think boys are yucky and that’s it. There’s nothing more to say.” (Rap Radar)
In addition to fans, the duo’s joke also stumped Drake’s mother.
“My mom was actually like, ‘What happened? How did you elope?’ ” the rapper, 23, told PEOPLE at the MTV Movie Awards Sunday. “But we were just joking around. I never thought it would get so out of hand…Ironically, I got a ring for myself, so people were like, ‘Aw, you got married, and you have a ring you’re wearing. People still think it’s real. I’ll look at a girl, and she’ll be like, ‘You’re a married man. You shouldn’t look at me that way.'” (PEOPLE)
Following the rumors, reps for both artists denied their marriage ever took place.
Reps for both Drake and Nicki Minaj tell E! News that the rappers did not tie the knot, though both tweeted that they did earlier today. While Drake said in his tune “Miss Me” that he fancied marrying the Trinidadian newcomer, the duo decided to team up instead for what appears to be a publicity stunt.
