Young Money’s Nicki Minaj is catching some serious heat for going ghost on a $25,000 pledge. New reports claim the hip-hop heavyweight has not pushed forward to financially help former “Cosby Show” actor Geoffrey Owens.
According to reports, Owens’ camp said Nicki hasn’t bothered to try and reach out.
Sources familiar with the situation tell us Minaj and her team have yet to even contact Geoffrey or his people, much less hand over the cash. On Monday’s episode of Queen Radio, Nicki discussed her pledge … saying she was having a tough time getting in touch with Owens’ team — but our sources say Geoffrey’s team hasn’t heard a peep, and are easily reachable. Last week, Nicki announced her interest in giving Owens $25,000.
“This man is a whole f—ing legend,” the rapper said during her latest episode of Queen Radio on Beats 1. “That man is now getting so many opportunities, I personally want to donate $25,000.” Minaj also called out Karma Lawrence, the woman who took Owens’ photo at a Trader Joe’s in New Jersey where he was bagging groceries. The same week, Nicki penned an emotional message in support of Owens after his Trader Joe’s pic went viral.
