New York rapper Nicki Minaj‘s brother has a little more time before he finds out just how much time he has to do in a publicized child rape conviction. A new report claims Jelani Maraj will have to wait longer before learning his fate.
According to reports, Jelani’s legal muscle is trying to have the conviction thrown out.
The sentencing for Nicki Minaj‘s brother was put off for another month Tuesday, following his lawyer’s petition to have the Long Island man’s conviction for child rape tossed. Jelani Maraj faces up to life behind bars for the repeated rape of his stepdaughter, starting when she was just 11 years old, in their Baldwin home while he was married to her mother. (Page Six)
Recently, Nicki’s mother came forward to shut down a jail rumor about Jelani getting attacked behind bars.
Earlier the same week, gossip developed about Jelani Maraj getting involved in a jail altercation.
There was a rumor shared around the internet yesterday that Jelani Maraj, the convicted pedaphile brother of Nicki Minaj got his world rocked in a prison brawl. The source of the video came from a Facebook post, claiming that Jelani was in the video getting jumped by a half dozen inmates. (Bossip)
A few months ago, Nicki Minaj’s ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels weighed-in on Jelani’s conviction.
“Of course I still care about her. I wasn’t shooting my shot [by commenting on her PAPER Magazine cover], I was just saying about the pictures what everybody else was saying. … We haven’t spoken. [Her brother’s conviction?] It’s crazy because I know everybody involved. I never would have thought in a million years what actually happened. It’s just crazy when you know the people.
