On Thursday, Nicki Minaj unveiled “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz” during a Beats 1 interview with Zane Lowe. Both have already blown up, but it seems “Chun-Li” is something out of the ordinary getting co-signs from Ty Dolla $ign, Angela Simmons, Tyga, Blac Chyna and more celebs. With some dope verses and awesome rhymes, the song’s inspired by the famous female video game character Chun-Li, who is a staple in Capcom’s classic “Street Fighter” series. 1. Chun-Li’s One Of The Most Renowned Characters In The History Of Fighting Games

She’s seen as the top character within Capcom’s plethora of releases, and even GameDaily put her first on their list of the best “Street Fighter” characters in 2009. Chun-Li is also often referred to by many as the “first lady of video games”, and has won countless awards. In the same year, Game Informer’s list of the top 10 most popular fighting characters in video game history saw Chun-Li placed at 7th, and Complex went as far to say she is “arguably the most popular female video character ever created”. Talk about legacy!
