Hollywood actor Nick Cannon is reportedly the one responsible for ending his high-profile marriage to R&B diva Mariah Carey.
According to reports, Cannon’s decision to leave Carey goes back to the safety of their kids.
Nick has made it clear to all involved … he’s deeply concerned about Mariah’s emotional state and is ending the marriage for the well being of their kids. He believes the environment around Mariah is toxic and fears for his kids. We’re told Nick believes his kids have already shown signs of emotional upset living with Mariah. (TMZ)
Cannon and Carey have reportedly been living apart for the past few months.
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon separated back in May — and are living apart … and we’re told divorce lawyers have been negotiating a property settlement and custody agreement for months and the divorce is “a done deal.” Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ … Mariah and Nick have been living in separate houses in NYC since May. He sees the kids but that’s the extent of their contact. (TMZ)
Reports also claimed Carey’s issues stemmed from Nick not being a big family man.
Our sources say Mariah feels Nick has abandoned her by taking every gig that’s on the table … when they don’t need the money. She’s especially angry because it keeps him away from their kids. For Nick’s part … we’re told he feels Mariah has become impossible because she surrounds herself with “yes men.” He says she can’t handle it when he dares to disagree with her. (TMZ)
Cannon confessing to his past romantic flings also reportedly played a big role in the split.
Mariah reportedly got miffed after he revealed on the Big Boy Radio Show that he had slept with Kim Kardashian and then to Howard Stern that Mariah refused to have sex with him until they got married. These confessions — added to his workaholic nature — reportedly put too much strain on their union. Mariah, 45, and Nick, 33, have been married for six years after tying the knot on April 30, 2008.
