After months of separation amid intense coverage, Hollywood actor Nick Cannon has finally called it quits and filed for divorce from R&B icon Mariah Carey.
According to reports, Cannon filed the divorce papers in mid-December.
The timing is interesting. We found out Nick filed papers December 12. The date is relevant because on December 3, Mariah showed up 3 hours late to tape a segment for the NBC tree-lighting special. At the time we posted a story … Mariah was on the phone with her lawyers going over the terms of her property settlement. That syncs up with Nick filing papers a week later, after they hashed out a deal. (TMZ)

Carey’s estranged husband recently denied penning a diss song about her.

In October, Nick revealed there were plans to reunite with Carey for family time on the holidays.
Speaking to U.S. talk show host Meredith Viera on Friday (24Oct14), he explains, “(I’m) just staying focused on family and what’s right and getting through these times and just doing what’s right for the kids… “They’re just happy. They love mommy, they love daddy. We’ve always been people who are kind of on the go, coming and going, so their life hasn’t changed one bit. Nick Cannon stepped out to support model Amber Rose at the XXIV Karat Sparkling Wine Launch party in LA on Thursday night, further fueling speculations that the two may be an item. “They were sitting very cozy in her booth.
