[With the hype behind Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao died down, NFL star turned undefeated boxer Ray Edwards talks to SOHH about his transition into a new sport.]

After studying numerous tapes as I came into the game, Muhammad Ali is by far, not only the greatest boxer, he’s one of the greatest human beings I’ve had the company of studying and realizing who the man is, himself.

Not only in boxing but in his community and in the world. He’s a great human being. He’s someone you would want to pattern yourself after politically, how he handled himself in the ring, how he demonstrated great outcomes over everything that came his way.

He showed heart, faith and determination. That’s one of my great icons.

The next one would be Evander Holyfield. He’s a guy who people said was too small for that division, he wasn’t big enough, and he’s a four-time heavyweight champion. I believe he’s the only one to do that.

He’s a great champion and puncher and showed guys in the division it ain’t the size of the dog, it’s the fight of the dog in him.

Nobody thought anyone could destroy Mike Tyson and he destroyed him. Twice.

He’s a great champion and those are my top two fighters for right now.
