R&B singer Chris Brown nearly avoided finding himself in handcuffs this week. New reports claim a famous attorney pushed for an arrest for an alleged gun threat.
According to the latest buzz, Brown believes Deputy D.A. Mary Murray is out to get him.
Murray has a long and contentious history with Chris. She not only prosecuted Brown in the Rihanna case, she was involved in the various probation violation hearings in which she asked for jail time, and often lost. Our sources say the day Chris allegedly pulled a gun on a woman at his home, the cops had decided NOT to arrest him, but rather take the case under investigation. In fact, at one point Chris actually came out of the house and was yukking it up with the cops. We’re told it was Murray who pushed a change of plans … to arrest Chris on the spot. (TMZ)

R&B singer Ray J came forward this week and spoke up in Brown’s defense.
As for whether Curran’s statements are truthful, Ray J responds, “Listen, I can’t say what’s truthful or not, because I have never seen that happen, and I was right there. So, I don’t want to comment. The thing about it is, she can’t be telling the truth when I’m telling you that certain things are wrong. Like, find the facts out first. You know what I’m saying? According to reports, Chris Breezy posted $250,000 bail to get out of jail shortly after his Tuesday (August 30) arrest.
He was released from jail late Tuesday night after posting $250,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County jail records. The arrest, which occurred outside the view of several news helicopters that swirled overhead and throngs of camera crews gathered at the bottom of Brown’s hilltop estate, marked the conclusion of nearly 14-hour-long stand-off and investigation by police.
