R&B singers Ginuwine and Tyrese’s publicized social media clashing over their TGT group’s breakup reportedly stemmed from internal problems.
According to reports, Gin wanted to ditch TGT instead of going into production for another album.
Sources close to TGT tell us the plan was for Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank to hit the studio early next year to record their second album — but just a few days ago, Ginuwine told them he wanted out of the group. We’re told he offered no explanation for his departure, and Tyrese and Tank were especially saddened by it because they owe their record label, Atlantic, two more albums — and it wasn’t easy to score that deal. The music veterans went at each other on Instagram late Thursday (December 17) night.
Instead of feeding into the situation, Tyrese acknowledged the media’s wandering eyes.
Back in summer 2013, TGT came together for their first album.
Six years have elapsed since Tyrese, Ginuwine and Tank conceived the idea of teaming up as TGT. But the R&B supergroup isn’t wasting any more time. This week, TGT announced its Atlantic debut album, “3 Kings,” will arrive at retail on Aug. 20. In fact, the trio has already hit the road with its “3 Kings” Tour. (Billboard)
